Insurance policy review
Over the years your life doesn't stand still. This is why you need to review your insurance policies to make sure they are up to date.
The new year is an excellent time to call your insurance agent and ask for a review. This should be done once a year.

Larry's Tip of the Week:
Review your homeowners insurance policy with your agent. Some older policies provide less coverage than the current standard homeowners policy.

Many older plans do not provide coverage for water damage, theft, or liability. The policy may only be providing coverage on an "Actual Cash Value" basis rather than a more current "Replacement Cost" policy.

Actual Cash Value means what it would cost to buy the item today less depreciation. If your roof were destroyed in a storm, the insurance company will only pay for a new roof, less the amount of depreciation of the old roof.

"Replacement Cost coverage" means you will receive what it would cost without taking off for depreciation.

You should try to get an H0-3 policy with replacement cost coverage.
